Korean Air had already stopped program last summer

Beginning on January 1st 2016, Asiana Airlines will abolish a benefit program for seniors who bought their plane ticket with a departure from the US.

Asiana Airlines officials said, "we have been trying to maintain the 'Senior Discount' program, which was exclusively limited to Asiana Airlines customers departing from America. However, due to the recent rise of exchange rates and the aggravation of income and expenditure as a result of intensified competition of flight time between airlines, we were compelled to stop the program."

The officials added, "As a Korean national airline that developed with great overseas Korean community support, we are deeply sorry that we could not offer more benefit. We will continue our best to repay the support by offering better service and assistance."

Meanwhile, last June, Korean Air had discontinued the senior discount program that gave 10% discounts to seniors over the age of 60.
