Evergreen Choir performs as part of "Celebrate Asia" on January 31st

Korean Music Association's Evergreen Choir will be performing at Benaroya Hall, home of the Seattle Symphony in downtown Seattle well noted for its technology-infused acoustics.

Evergreen Choir, as a member of the Washington Area Music Association, will perform 5 songs as a joint choir with Seattle Chinese Chorus (SCC) and Seattle Symphony at "2016 Celebrate Asia", an annual concert devoted to reveling the musical traditions of Seattle's Asian communities.

The joint choir will perform two Korean songs, "Shin-Arirang" (English: The new Arirang) and "Mok-Ryun-Hwa" (English: Magnolia), two Chinese songs, "Mo Li Hua" (English: Jasmine Flower) and "In the Field of Hope", as well as "America, the Beautiful", led by Stanford faculty and conductor Jindong Cai.

"It is truly an honor to be performing an ensemble with the Seattle Symphony, says Moo-woong Kim, leader of the Evergreen Choir. He added, "All members of the choir have been practicing eagerly for this great opportunity to show the beauty of Korean music". Shin-Arirang, a modern version of the famous Korean traditional folk song, will be performed by soprano Yujin Kim.

Classical pianist Charlie Park Albright will also perform at this year's event.

Born to a Korean mother, Charlie Park Albright is from Centralia, Washington, and has been playing the piano from the age of 3. After completing a pre-medical curriculum at Harvard College, Albright completed his master's in Piano Performance at the New England Conservatory of Music and graduated from the Juilliard School of Music with his post-graduate Artist Diploma (A.D.).
