Korean Government Invites Foreign Students for Master’s and Doctoral Programs

Master’s and Doctoral Program with 1 Year of Language Course Offered at Various Korean Universities

 


The Korean Government Scholarship Program (KGSP) is receiving applications for the coming academic year in September 2016, in a mission to support future global leaders by inviting talented international students to Korea for an opportunity to conduct advanced studies at institutions of higher education in Korea.

 

The qualifications are as follows:

The applicant and his/her parents must hold foreign citizenships

*Applicants with Korean citizenship are not considered for the selection process.

Applicants must be under 40 years of age

Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree as of September 1st of the selection year.

*Applicants who have completed or have enrolled in an undergraduate program, a master’s program or a doctoral program in Korea are not eligible to apply for the program.

 


The academic achievement of the applicants must meet one of the following:

The grade point average (GPA) must be no less than 2.64 on a 4.0 scale, 2.80 on a 4.3 scale, 2.91 on a 4.5 sclae; or the overall grades must be no less than 80% out of 100%.

 

Scholarship Benefits include free tuition, round-trip flight tickets, medical insurance, as well as a monthly stipend of 900,000 KRW. All applications must be turned in by mail or by visit in physical copies by March 17, 2016 to the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Seattle (Address:2033 6th Ave #1125, Seattle, WA 98121).
