Do you love K-Pop? Are you a rising star that would like to showcase your talents? Would you like to be invited to Korea for a chance to compete with participants from all over the world? Now you can! K-Pop World Festival announced preliminary auditions for Greater Seattle area participants to take place on May 26, 2018 with a chance to compete at the national and international stage following the local Seattle contest.
The event is produced by SeattleN, a Korean community news agency that also sponsored 2016 and 2017's K-Pop contest, and presented by the General Consulate of the Republic of Korea in Seattle. K-Pop World Festival is recruiting all eligible participants to register by May 10, 2018 for prescreening. Those who participate will be invited to demonstrate talents at the Lynnwood Convention Center and win $1,000 in prize.
Eligibility is open to all participants that are non-Korean nationals. Anyone who has one or both parents who are Korean nationals are also not eligible. If selected, contestants must be available to visit Korea for the final round in Changwon to compete internationally. Only first place winners from each of the two categories (vocal and performance) will advance to the next round. With that, some important dates to keep in mind about the K-pop World Festival:
