University of Washington's Bothell campus is the best value among colleges in Washington state, according to a recent report from Seattle-based Payscale.

Payscale found in-state graduates of Bothell school earned the best return on investment, making $609,000 more in 20 years than a high school graduate. The national average is around $225,000.Payscale determined the return on investment by measuring the out-of-pocket cost to attend college plus estimated foregone wages against the additional income a college graduate can expect to receive compared to a high school graduate. The company used 935 alumni profiles on average for each school.

 

UW Bothell cost $109,000 for in-state students over four years, with an average loan amount of $23,300. The University of Washington's Seattle and Tacoma campuses, Seattle University, Gonzaga University, Washington State University and Western Washington University made up the rest of the top eight Washington state schools with the best returns on investment for in-state students.

 

The Evergreen State College, Whitworth University and Whitman College, Eastern Washington University and Seattle Pacific University ranked near the bottom.

Cornish College of the Arts ranked last on the 27 schools included in the list, with a 20-year return on investment of just $57,500 after four years of school at a cost of $207,000.
