Torch Light Parade is a part of Sea Fair that kicks off at the Seattle Center to Safeco Field . It also is one of the biggest street parades in the US. This year, Robinson Cano from Seattle Mariners served as grand marshal and led the parade.

For this event, Seattle-Washington State Korean Association has worked over four months to show the crowd best of Korea. It invited different performance teams from Korea of 65 performers including Ggokdusae and Ullim, traditional theatrical performers, to perform lion dance and Bongsan Mask dance. It also invited Taekwondo performance team to make the entire team look better.

Korean performance team was the 74th team to take off from the Seattle Center and as they started their performance, people did not hesitate to cheer for the team.

Yoon Sun Hong, the President at Seattle-Washington State Korean Association, stated that “This event isn’t just an event for Koreans and Korean Americans living in Seattle but an event for all the Koreans residing in the West Coast. I hope more Koreans from Korean community participate in the future parades so they can help us promote beauty of Korean culture to the mainstream US.”
