Successful General Meeting of Korean American Hotel Association Held in Seattle With 350 People

KOAHA (Korean American Hotel Association), an organization of Korean hotel owners from the United States, Canada, and Europe held a regular general meeting in Seattle that opened in prosperity.


The general meeting that was held on the morning of October 8th at the Bellevue Hilton Hotel. 250 hotel owners from Washington, Oregon, California, Colorado, and Alaska and 350 people from hotel-related enterprises including Asiana Airlines, banks, insurance companies, real estate, furniture and online business owners attended the meeting.


Chairman Young-Woo Jung emphasized in his congratulatory message, “After 4 years of establishment, KOAHA has enlisted 500 hotels as members and has grown to be a powerful business organization.” He also added that the boom in hotel businesses would continue to prosper for some time.


Young-Joo Park, President of the Washington State KOAHA, who had established a preparatory committee with 1.5 to 2nd generation Koreans to busily prepare for the meeting for 7 months, said that the unity and collaboration between members and the organization have led to big progress. He added, “We should try our best to continue to develop this business and bequeath to our descendants so that they may have a conscious spirit of ownership in this business and the country.”


Duk-Ho Moon, the consul general, welcomed all the hotel business owners that visited Seattle in his congratulatory message and asked that Korean hotel business should be the center in the growing hotels and services trade in the United States.


At this general meeting, the association elected Young-Doo Park from Palm Springs, California to take over for 2-years after President Jung’s tenure. Young-Doo Park has made big contributions to the progress of the association as a director.


Also noteworthy, the hotel associations contracted a MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) with the Kelgo Insurance Company for mutual cooperation to maximize the profits of the members of the business.


Prior to this, on October 7th, the board of directors decided to increase the number of board of directors from 9 people to 13 people due to the growing scale of the association.
