Variety of performances were shown in Music Councils 36
th Annual Fall Concert 


Seattle - Korean Melody lights up the autumn night.

The 36
th annual ‘Fall Concert’ held by the Washington Music Council (President Moo Woong Kim) was one of the most successful performances with nearly 500 in attendance on Saturday, October 10th at Benaroya Hall. Asiana Airlines participated once again as the main sponsor of the concert.  


The concert opened with
Mozart’s “Eine Kleine Nachtmusik” and the Korean song “Longing for Mount Geumgang” performed by a chamber ensemble consisting of violinist Su-Ji Kim, cellist Seong-Rim Lee, and clarinetist Jin Sim.


The Diakonos Men’s Chorus, made up of conductor Dong-Soo Seo, Dr. Eun-Gu Jung DDS and 12 deacons from the Community Church of Seattle, presented “God’s Grace” and “Sunset Glow” which heightened excitement.   

Soprano Do-Hee Kim, who is part of the council, and baritone Gwang-Suk Goo sang a medley of Korean songs with the chamber ensemble accompanying. Tenor Seung-Mook Lee from Korea drew applause for singing “I Want to Go” and the aria “Lippen Schweigen“ from The Merry Widow with Soprano Do-Hee Kim.


Bassist Myeong-Ji Kim who was an invited guest from Korea was applauded for his interpretation of “The River of My Heart” by Soo-In Lee and “An Oaten Pipe” with his distinctive bass voice.

Soprano Yoo-Jin Kim performed the Korean song “
As If Spring Comes Across The River” and an opera as well.


The KMA Union Choir, consisting of 65 people who love music in Seattle, presented Verdi’s “Chrous of the Hebrew Slaves” and Dong-Jin Kim’s “Magnolia”. The concert ended as the performers and the audience sang “Longing for Mount Geumgang” together.
