A Korean student who was injured in a collision on Highway 99 with a “Ride the Ducks” vehicle has sued the company and the bus driver.

It is the first lawsuit against “Ride the Ducks” company regarding this tragedy.

Na Ra Yoon was knocked unconscious due to damage from the accident while traveling with other students from North Seattle Community College on a charter bus as part of school orientation.

Her hands were fractured and she sustained injuries across her body. She is also suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.

Yoon appointed Charles Hermann, who is well-known in the Korean community as a personal injury lawyer, as her lawyer and submitted a petition to the King County Courthouse on October 5th.

Hermann said “…they (Ride the Ducks company) knew in 2013 that there was a problem with its (the vehicle) axle. But that word and warning did not get to the Seattle Duck company and no repairs were made.”

Five students, including 20-years-old Korean student Ha Ram Kim were killed. Seven Korean students were on the charter bus and six Korean family members were on the “Ride the Ducks” vehicle.
