Christopher Robert Hill to discuss the importance of the U.S.-Korea relationship

On Wednesday November 12th Center for Korean Studies, the Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies, Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Seattle, and the Academy of Korean Studies are hosting ‘The Korean Peninsula Forum – Regional dynamics in Northeast Asia and the future of US-South Korea relations’ in Kane Hall 225 (Walker-Ames Room).

The Korean Peninsula Forum aims at understanding the issues within Korea and its relationship to the U.S. and enhancing the importance of these issues in the U.S. and beyond. For this forum, Christopher Robert Hill, the former Unites States ambassador to the Republic of Korea will give a public presentation on the current issues surrounding Northeast Asia based on his past service experiences. He will also be discussing the future issues and consequences on the region’s geopolitical dynamics and the U.S.-Korea relations.

The forum will start at 7:00 PM and will be held approximately for an hour. At 5:30 PM, prior to this forum, Professor Donald Hellmann, Professors Kenneth Pyle, David Bachman, and Clark Sorensen at the Jackson School of International Studies will have a discussion session focusing the implications of Christopher Robert Hill’s talk.
