Collaboration of Seattle Korean job offers

The Korean American Chamber of Commerce in Washington State (KACCWA) hosted a “Job Fair” on April 29th at Bellevue City Hall. The event was highly appreciated for helping Korean youth and adults to gather diverse job information.

 

 

KACCWA is a non-profit organization representing Korean-Americans doing business in the state of Washington. It includes major Korean corporations, financial institutions and non-profit organizations operating in a wide range of industries. 

 

 

The event helped people to meet recruiters from a wide range of companies and industries, an extension of a Korean community event. Not only did Korean companies that sponsor the event, but also related organizations operated by the governments of South Korea, Latin American and China joined in.

 

About 30 different companies and organizations participated and shared recruiting information of various companies. KACCWA prepared small booths for Korean employers from Microsoft, Amazon, Google, and other major companies. They offered great resources for gaining employment at these number one IT companies. There were more than 200 people, mainly Korean international students, and businessmen, who visited this event, meeting with employers and learning more about new opportunities ahead.

 

Seong H Kim CPA, Steve Lee CPA, Tous Les Jours, Uwajimaya, Hanjin, Koreanair, and others were looking for new employees and showcased their companies and their firm foundation in America.

 

 

THe Korean American Bar Association of Washington, Korean American Hotel Association, Korean Community Service Center WA, Washington Family Service Center, etc., participated in this job fair as well.

 

People from Bellevue City Hall, Seattle City Hall, Washington State Liquor Control Board, which Korean groceries deal with the most, the Ministry of Transportation and Taxes offered information regarding taxation and the minimum wage to Korean businessmen at the event.

 

An Hispanic bank ‘Plaza Bank’ had a briefing session, the Japanese Chamber of Commerce in Washington State introduced the ‘Dignity Memorial’ which is one of the largest companies in the hospice and funeral industries.

 

KACCWA’s President Hyuna Chong stated, “We had a small business job fair last year, and we collaborated finding jobs and individual business for this year. It would offer a great resource for career exploration and networking opportunities.

President Chong mentioned, “There were some Korean companies who did not join this event since they had no plan for recruiting employees.  Regardless of the recruitment, it would be a useful event to utilize to communicate with Korean costumers.
