On September 6th, the Korean American Chamber of Commerce Washington (KACC-WA) stated that the ‘KOR-US (WA) ICT Forum’ that took place in South Korea on September 1st was successfully finalized.

The ‘KOR-US (WA) ICT Forum’ was co-hosted by the KACC-WA, the Washington Technology Industry Association (WTIA), and the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA). The main object of this forum was to promote the exchange of information and to build networks among ICT companies from South Korea and the US.

Jay Inslee, the Governor of Washington State, and Kee Seung Baik, the President of KISA, discussed Washington State’s and Korea’s businesses based on ICT and start-up companies. They also spoke about the importance of IoT (cloud based technology) and how it is starting to grow.

With the support from the hosts, companies and business leaders in industries such as health care, business, IT consulting, energy, medicine, and education from both countries were able to discuss their future business and build global networks.

Last year, KISA and WTIA signed an agreement to promote businesses based on IoT and have been supporting start-up companies to grow not only within Korea but also throughout the world. Kee Seung Baik promised to give continuous support to Korea’s start-up companies so they can expand their business.
